Frequently Asked Questions

How is MEDAlert helpful to the people of your community?
MEDAlert™ has quickly become a very popular purchase among people of all ages because it provides the security and convenience of having a complete medical history available at all times. The unique memory device is highly visible and makes emergency medical information easily available in case of an emergency.

In addition, it is also a big time saver when completing any medical paperwork for children or adults by providing a complete personal summary which includes medical issues, allergies, surgeries, immunizations, doctors, emergency contacts and insurance information. A digital memory chip is used to store emergency information on the easy access MEDAlert™ medical history and alert form. View form.

How does MEDAlert help save lives?
MEDAlert™ can provide emergency medical professionals with critical information in the event of an emergency. If a person is unconscious, injured or ill, their MEDAlert™ device can be accessed to provide critical information such as current medical issues, past surgeries, medications, allergies, doctors and emergency contacts. Medical history, current medications and allergies are critical information that can help ensure appropriate medical treatment.

Do I need any experience to start a MEDAlert Fundraiser?
No, a MEDAlert™ Fundraiser is very easy to start.  We provide all of the
promotional materials and order forms along with complete support. We are always available to answer your questions and provide any support needed. We have provided a 'Fundraiser Checklist' you can download from our website.

How profitable is a MEDAlert Fundraiser?
A MEDAlert™ Fundraiser can be very profitable and rewarding.  You are given the unique opportunity to help protect the people of your organization and community while at the same time earning funds to further your cause.

You have the flexibility to set the price at any amount you feel would be appropriate.  Typically organizations offer the product for $30$35, $40 or $45 which allows you to earn up to 45% profit or more

For example, if you had 100 members and each sold just 10 MEDAlert™ devices at $45 each, your organization would profit $12,000! Compare that to how many boxes of cookies, magazine subscriptions or candles you’d need to sell to reach an equal amount of profit for your organization.

Please view the profits potential chart below and see how your profits can easily grow!

*The profit chart above is a typical example of what you can expect to earn with a MEDAlert™ Fundraiser based on the amount of members in your group and a $45 per MEDAlert™ device sales price with your members selling an average of 10 items each. Actual results may vary and are based on the experience of your group, your local demographics, group leadership and the amount of time you have to run your MEDAlert™ Fundraiser.

When should we collect our money?

We recommend the collection of all the money at the time the orders are taken. You do not pay for anything until the completion of your sale. Collect the money as you take orders, pay only for the product ordered and you keep the profit!

How long should our fundraiser last?

We recommend 2 to 3 weeks. Be sure to include at least two weekends!

Can you provide us fundraising brochures and order forms?

Sure! Just contact us via the Fundraiser Sign Up page or at and let us know how many sellers you have.

Do we have to collect tax?

Generally, if your organization is exempt from federal and state taxes, you will not have to collect sales tax on the sale of your fundraising products. But, to be on the safe side, check your state’s fundraising regulations.

If you are a 501(c)(3) organization and if your fundraising product sale is conducted primarily with volunteers, you will probably not have to pay taxes on your profit. If you are not an IRS registered, tax-exempt nonprofit, you may have to pay taxes on your profits from your fundraising product sales. Check with a tax specialist and with your state. Download here to see your state's regulations.

What do I do once all orders and money have been collected?

Place your order one week after your fundraising stop date. This is to ensure that you have collected any late orders and money. You will need to make sure that you have a copy of each order form.

What about door-to-door selling?

Many people confuse product fundraising with 'door-to-door sales'.  We do not encourage door-to-door selling. In reality, most school fundraising sales are made to parents, family members, friends, and co-workers. The sellers should be instructed to sell to parents, relatives, friends, and parents can also take the fundraising flyers to work. Please check out our Fundraising Safety Tips.

How can we increase sales?

The number one thing you can do to boost your sales…share with the community how the fundraiser will help achieve your goal. Highlight the reason your group is trying to raise money. Instead of focusing on the dollar amount, talk about how the proceeds will be used. For example, say you’re halfway to a new playground, rather than halfway to your goal of $10,000.

When Will I Receive My Fundraiser Order?

Orders are shipped once we receive payment for your order. You can expect to receive your shipment within 2-3 weeks of paying for your order.

How do I track my order?

At the time of shipment, you will receive an e-mail notification of shipment. This e-mail will also contain all tracking information to follow your order. You can also contact your fundraising team at:

How do we get ready for delivery day?

Send out notices to parents with dates and times for order pick up. Arrange for a distribution location. Cafeterias and gymnasiums work well for large groups. We recommend at least two adult volunteers are available during order pickup. (Download Volunteers Needed forms here.)
